Shadab Hussain, Fauq Bahraichi, Shailendra Mishra and Dr Richa Srivastava Receive Prestigious Recognition

A grand fortnightly poetry gathering organised by Avadh Vatika Sahitya Sansthan at the Senani Bhawan Auditorium turned into a vibrant celebration of literature, poetry and journalism. The event was presided over by P.K. Prachand, while Tilak Ram Ajnabi conducted the programme. The ceremony began with a devotional tribute to Goddess Saraswati.
During the event, distinguished personalities from literature and journalism were honoured with the “Avadh Vatika Samman 2026” for their remarkable contributions. Young poetess Dr. Richa Srivastava received the “Avadh Vatika Hindi Sahitya Gaurav Samman 2026”, poet Shailendra Mishra was honoured with the “Hindi Sahitya Gaurav Samman 2026”, renowned poet Fauq Bahraichi received the “Urdu Sahitya Gaurav Samman 2026”, while senior journalist Shadab Hussain was felicitated with the “Avadh Vatika Patrakar Gaurav Samman 2026” for his fearless contribution to journalism over the past three decades.
The awards included mementos, certificates and ceremonial shawls, presented by organisation president P.K. Prachand, chief guest Ram Prasad Kaushal, special guest Dr Dinesh Tripathi Shams and vice president Rais Siddiqui.
The literary session featured poetic recitations by Vinod Kashyap, Sunil Kumar, Abdul Rafi Khan Bumper Bahraichi, Kaleem Khan, Vinod Pandey, Rais Siddiqui and several other poets and writers. Their compositions on humour, social issues and contemporary themes received warm appreciation from the audience.
Adding a touch of humour to the evening, P.K. Prachand presented a witty satirical poem during the presidential address, leaving the audience entertained and cheerful. Ramesh Chandra Mishra, organisation minister of the Freedom Fighters Welfare Council, praised the participating poets and highlighted the importance of such literary gatherings in promoting cultural and intellectual awareness in society.
Several literature lovers, including advocate Alok Shukla, were also present and appreciated the event.
