: Union Bank of India reaffirmed its financial strength by presenting a ₹2,853.33 crore dividend cheque to the Government of India for the financial year 2025-26, underscoring the growing resilience and profitability of India’s public sector banking system.

Dividend Presented to Finance Minister

The dividend cheque was formally handed over by Ashish Pandey, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank of India, to Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The ceremony was attended by Sanjay Lohiya, Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance.

The dividend payout highlights Union Bank’s sustained financial discipline, improved operational efficiency and robust balance sheet. The bank’s consistent focus on digital transformation, prudent risk management and customer-centric banking has strengthened its profitability while reinforcing confidence in the public sector banking ecosystem.

Executive Directors Nitesh Ranjan, Ramasubramanian S., and Amaresh Prasad were also present during the presentation. Bank leadership reiterated its commitment to transparency, responsible governance and long-term value creation for stakeholders.

The dividend contribution reflects the improved financial health of India’s public sector banks and strengthens government revenues that can support development priorities.
