Tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on Mahaparinirvan Diwas by RDSO
Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was organized in RDSO by the Personnel Directorate with reverence and respect. A large number of RDSO officers and staff were present on the occasion.
The Chief Guest of the programme, Shri Qazi Mairaj Ahmad, Additional Director General, RDSO, in his address, highlighted the multifaceted personality and contributions of Dr. Ambedkar. He said that Dr. Ambedkar transformed education into a tool of empowerment and liberation. His vision was of a nation where every individual could live with dignity, which is the true identity of a developed nation. Referring to Dr. Ambedkar’s inspiring thoughts, he said, “The progress of a nation is reflected in its work culture and discipline.” He further stated that Dr. Ambedkar not only drafted the law but also defined human dignity. Dr. Ambedkar led historic movements against discrimination based on religion, caste, and gender, and his contributions such as the 8-hour workday, maternity benefits, and industrial relations laws remain invaluable gifts to the nation. Shri Ahmad urged all employees to contribute to nation-building by fostering a just, respectful, cooperative work culture and ensuring equal opportunities at the workplace.
Shri Subash Chand, General Secretary, RDSO SC/ST Association, also addressed the gathering. He highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s unparalleled contribution to nation-building, especially his efforts towards the upliftment of marginalized communities, the drafting of the Indian Constitution, and his significant role in labour and social justice laws. Prior to the formal proceedings, all officers and staff paid floral tribute at the portrait of Dr. Ambedkar.
