CII Hosts Union Budget 2026–27 Viewing Session; Industry Welcomes Growth-Focused Budget

ANYTIME NEWS NETWORK : The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Northern Region, organised a Union Budget 2026–27 Viewing Session, bringing together senior industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to jointly view the Budget and deliberate on its implications for industry, investment, and regional economic growth. The session reflected strong industry optimism, with participants welcoming the Budget’s clear emphasis on growth, competitiveness, and long-term capacity building.

Commenting on the Budget, Mrs Anjali Singh, Chairperson, CII Northern Region and Executive Chairperson, ANAND Group, said that the Union Budget 2026 presents well-targeted interventions for the MSME sector. She highlighted that improved access to growth capital and measures supporting sustainable scaling will significantly strengthen MSMEs. She also welcomed the launch of India Semiconductor Mission 2.0, noting that its focus on indigenous equipment, materials, design capability, and intellectual property creation would accelerate the development of India’s electronics and advanced manufacturing ecosystem. These initiatives, she said, would deepen domestic value chains and reinforce India’s position in high-technology manufacturing.

Mr Puneet Kaura, Deputy Chairperson, CII Northern Region and Managing Director & CEO, Samtel Avionics, observed that the Budget adopts a steady and pragmatic approach to strengthening India’s industrial and technology ecosystem. He noted that the continued emphasis on MSME capacity building, improved access to capital, and stronger supply-chain integration would enable enterprises to move up the value curve and enhance global competitiveness.

Dr Upasana Arora, Chairperson, CII Uttar Pradesh and Managing Director, Yashoda Super Speciality Hospitals, said the Budget reflects a clear and deliberate focus on job creation and preparing India’s workforce for future opportunities. With a large number of young people entering the labour market each year, she noted that skill development initiatives in future-oriented sectors would enhance India’s share in global services exports. She also highlighted the Budget’s strong thrust on healthcare, stating that the Bio Pharma Shakti initiative would boost biopharma manufacturing, research and development, and exports. Increased attention to mental health, trauma care, and assistive technologies, she added, would improve access to quality healthcare while generating employment and strengthening India’s position as a global healthcare and biopharma hub.

Mr Abhishek Saraff, Vice Chairman, CII Uttar Pradesh and Managing Director, Avadh Rail Infra Ltd, described the Union Budget 2026 as clearly growth-focused, with strong support for manufacturing and MSME-led expansion. He noted that the proposed SME Growth Fund would improve access to equity and liquidity, enabling enterprises to scale, innovate, and integrate more deeply into India’s manufacturing and export ecosystem. The focus on modernising textile and other legacy industrial clusters through infrastructure and technology upgradation, along with sustained emphasis on railways and roads, signals long-term policy commitment and builds confidence for investments in advanced technologies and large-scale manufacturing.

Ms Rachna Jindal, Regional Director, CII Northern Region, concluded that the Union Budget 2026 signals continuity, stability, and a strong intent to accelerate India’s industrial and technology-led growth. The announced measures, she said, are expected to boost investments, enhance MSME competitiveness, and reinforce the Northern Region’s role as a key driver of the national economy.
