Following the controversy surrounding Ayodhya’s Sri Ram Mandir, alleged embezzlement and theft in the offerings at Uttarakhand’s Badrinath Dham have triggered nationwide outrage. Mayawati demanded an immediate, rigorous investigation into the top managers and trust officials of both these iconic religious sites.

The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister pointed out that low-level anomalies are impossible without top-tier failure. Public chatter strongly suggests that either the chief managers are actively colluding with the scammers, or their absolute negligence has allowed this plunder of faith. She warned that failing to penalize the current management would embolden future administrators to exploit temple funds. The state government and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) must intervene proactively.
