SBI Strengthens Educational Infrastructure: Donates 500 Steel Benches to Aminabad Inter College

Demonstrating its deep-rooted commitment to corporate social responsibility and inclusive nation-building, the State Bank of India (SBI), Local Head Office, Lucknow, has extended critical infrastructural support to public education. Under its CSR wing, the bank on Tuesday handed over 500 premium-quality steel benches to Aminabad Inter College, a state-run institution managed by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation. This targeted intervention directly enhances the classroom ecosystem and resolves seating seating bottlenecks for over 2,000 underprivileged students.

Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Lucknow Municipal Corporation Mayor Smt. Sushma Kharwal lauded SBI’s institutional solidarity. Emphasizing the transformative power of primary education, she remarked, “Children represent the bedrock of our democratic future. Elevating their learning experience is far more sacred than institutional worship.” She reiterated that the municipal administration is dedicated to converting public schools into centers of excellence, blending academic rigor with adequate facilities. Echoing this vision, Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar noted that systemic efforts are underway to modernize every state-run classroom across the city.

SBI Anchors ₹700 Crore Pan-India CSR Portfolio for Structural Social Welfare

Detailing the financial institution’s macro social vision, SBI Deputy General Manager Shri Dheeraj Kumar announced that the bank allocates over ₹700 crore annually from its profits to drive welfare initiatives nationwide. From upgrade projects in healthcare centers and orphanages to supporting the government’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, SBI acts as a core participant in social progress. He stated that supplying these benches is not a routine compliance exercise, but a strategic effort toward community empowerment. The event was attended by high-ranking civic and banking officials, including Additional Municipal Commissioner Arun Kumar Gupta, College Principal Sahab Lal Mishra, and SBI Regional Manager Ms. Avantika Singh Mishra.
