Uttar Pradesh took a decisive step toward becoming India’s next Artificial Intelligence powerhouse as the CII UP AI Tech Summit 2026 brought together policymakers, technology leaders, entrepreneurs and industry experts to craft a comprehensive roadmap for an AI-driven future. The summit focused on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to accelerate economic growth, strengthen governance and improve public welfare.
AI to Power the Next Growth Story
State IT & Electronics Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma said Uttar Pradesh has emerged as one of India’s most attractive destinations for innovation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He emphasized that the state’s startup policy is now increasingly focused on Agri-Tech, enabling AI to improve crop productivity, modernize agriculture and enhance farmers’ incomes while ensuring responsible and ethical use of emerging technologies.
Population Becomes a Strategic Advantage
Principal Secretary, IT & Electronics, Alok Kumar described Uttar Pradesh’s 240-million population as a powerful data asset capable of training world-class AI models. He said the government is building a global database of technology professionals from Uttar Pradesh to connect them with the state’s expanding digital economy and innovation ecosystem.
Building the Next Generation of Tech Champions
Dr. Subi Chaturvedi, Global SVP at InMobi and member of the Chief Minister’s Digital Economy Working Group, said India’s first unicorn demonstrated that globally competitive technology companies can emerge from India. She called for nurturing future AI leaders from Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh by focusing on five strategic pillars—Compute, Data, Talent, Applications and Trust.
A Vision Beyond Technology
The summit concluded with consensus on strengthening AI infrastructure, expanding talent pipelines, promoting AI-led solutions in agriculture and citizen services, and creating a trusted, ethical AI ecosystem. Industry leaders believe the initiative positions Uttar Pradesh to become a national leader in artificial intelligence, digital innovation and future-ready economic transformation.
