The Legislative Pensioners Institute organised a dignified Youth Power and Independence Day Honour समारोह at Assembly Hall-80, Vidhan Bhavan, Lucknow. The programme was presided over by Dr. C. P. Sharma, while Mrs. Arpana Yadav, Vice-Chairperson, State Women Commission, attended as the Chief Guest.
Youth as Nation’s Greatest Strength
Addressing the gathering, Arpana Yadav described the youth as the country’s greatest source of energy and urged young people to stay away from drug abuse and other social evils. She called upon them to channel their talent, energy and determination towards nation-building and social development.
Honouring Distinguished Contributors
Several personalities associated with social, educational, administrative and community initiatives were honoured with mementoes for their contributions. The awardees included K.D. Tripathi, Mantoshi Yogacharya, Dr. Rupali Rathore, Brijesh Kumar, Priyanka, Pooja, Bandita Singh, Sachin Tiwari, Rahul Gupta, Anita Singh, Nidhi Rastogi, Manju Yadav, Anibha Saini, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Tripathi, IAS, and Dr. Arun Bharari, among others.
Tribute to Freedom Fighters
Speakers remembered the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and urged young citizens to draw inspiration from their courage, commitment and patriotism. Shivram Mishra announced his commitment to conducting free Sundarkand programmes and promoting spiritual and cultural awareness.
Green Mission and Drug-Free Society
Environmentalist Krishna Rai proposed launching dedicated tree plantation and anti-drug campaigns. The proposal received unanimous support from the gathering. Members subsequently observed a two-minute silence in memory of the martyrs of India’s freedom movement.
Strong Participation
The programme was attended by Anita Agarwal, Govind Jangid, Babita Sharma, Ankita Tripathi, Rampal Sharma, Madhu Tambe, Dr. Utkarsh Singh, Dr. Hariprakash Agarwal, Kankalata Nigam, Alka Sharma and several other distinguished participants.
The event was organised by Dr. Vivek Sharma and Govind Jangid. Before the meeting, a community bhandara was also organised near Gate No. 7 of the Vidhan Sabha premises under the arrangement of Rampal Sharma.
Concluding the programme, Institute President Dr. C. P. Sharma expressed gratitude to all guests and participants and formally announced the conclusion of the gathering.
