On the eve of Independence Day, the historic Shaheed Smarak stood bathed in solemn reverence and vibrant patriotic fervor. To honor the sublime sacrifices of the legendary martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s freedom, a grand memorial evening titled “Ek Shaam Veer Shaheedon Ke Naam” was convened under the joint aegis of the Jashn-e-Azadi Trust and the UP District Recognized Journalists Association.
Eighty Flames of Immortality Eighty incandescent candles were solemnly lit, illuminating the sacred monument with a golden aura. As fragrant petals showered upon the portraits of our national heroes, an overwhelming wave of gratitude and national pride stirred the hearts of all attendees.
Resounding Echoes of Patriotism The atmospheric silence was shattered by thunderous chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”. Adding grandeur and emotional depth to the twilight, the PAC brass band delivered soul-stirring patriotic melodies that sent ripples of devotion through the gathering.
Honoring Sacred Sacrifices Chief Guest Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali reflected that free India is built upon the unbreakable fortitude of our freedom fighters, urging citizens to build an inclusive nation of their dreams. Distinguished Guest Mahant Divyagiri asserted that keeping the fiery sagas of these revolutionaries alive across generations remains our truest homage.
Pledge for National Harmony Trust President Murlidhar Ahuja highlighted that National Days transcend ritualistic celebration, serving as enduring pillars of unity above caste, creed, and community. Guests were warmly honored with tricolor stoles by Zubair Ahmad and Abdul Waheed. Attended by freedom fighters’ families, civil society leaders, and citizens, the momentous dusk culminated in a resonant National Anthem and a renewed pledge for national solidarity.
