Lucknow: State Bank of India (SBI), Local Head Office, Lucknow, celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The occasion was marked by a tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices laid the foundation of a free and sovereign India.
The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by Shri Dipesh Raj, Chief General Manager, Lucknow Circle. Addressing the SBI family, Shri Dipesh Raj said that the bank’s strategic direction continues to be guided by the simple philosophy of “Digital First, Customer First and Nation Always.”
Highlighting SBI’s pivotal role in India’s economic growth and inclusive development, he said that the bank’s extensive branch network and digital infrastructure are helping bridge geographical and financial divides by taking banking services to rural, remote and underserved areas.
He further highlighted SBI’s contribution to key sectors such as Infrastructure, MSMEs and Agriculture. These initiatives, he said, are strengthening entrepreneurship and rural livelihoods while contributing to the vision of Make in India, Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat@2047.
The celebrations also featured a series of patriotic cultural performances by SBI employees, showcasing India’s rich heritage and the spirit of unity in diversity. Patriotic songs and recitations filled the atmosphere with pride and fervour. Senior officials, retired officials, employees and their family members attended the event and participated in the Independence Day celebrations with great enthusiasm.
