Lucknow. For children facing financial limitations, even basic educational resources can make a meaningful difference. Taking a step towards supporting their education and strengthening their confidence, SBI Ladies Club, Lucknow Circle distributed school bags, notebooks, pencil boxes and other educational material among underprivileged children studying at Vivekanand Nishulk Shiksha Kendra, Ratan Khand, Lucknow, on September 21, 2026.
The initiative reflected the State Bank of India’s continued commitment towards social service and support for children from disadvantaged sections of society. The educational material was distributed with the aim of helping children continue their studies with greater confidence and enthusiasm.
Education seen as a powerful tool against poverty
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Deepa Raj, President, SBI Ladies Club, Lucknow Circle, said the club has consistently remained committed to serving and empowering underprivileged children by providing essential educational resources from time to time.
She emphasised that education plays a crucial role in breaking the cycle of poverty and creating opportunities for a better future. The objective, she said, is to ensure that lack of resources does not become a barrier to a child’s education.
Essential learning material reaches children
The children received school bags along with notebooks, pencil boxes and other educational supplies. The initiative provided practical support for their day-to-day learning while also conveying a strong message of encouragement and social solidarity.
Such interventions can help children remain connected with education and motivate them to pursue their studies despite economic challenges.
SBI Ladies Club members and education centre representatives present
Smt. Neetu Kumar, Secretary, SBI Ladies Club, Lucknow Circle, Smt. Sunita Mahe, Joint Secretary, and other members of the Ladies Club were present on the occasion.
Shri C. B. Tiwari, social worker and founder of Vivekanand Nishulk Shiksha Kendra, along with teachers and students of the centre, also participated in the programme.
The initiative underlined the importance of community participation in strengthening educational opportunities for disadvantaged children. By providing basic learning resources and encouragement, such efforts can contribute towards building confidence among children and creating a stronger foundation for their future.
