Lucknow, 22 February: CII hosted a program on Social Development Initiatives for Uttar Pradesh, where CII Foundation announced partnerships with different NGOs and stakeholders to initiate on-ground social projects.
The initiative includes soft skills and digital skills training to 42 girl students who are scholar fellows from Satrikh village in Barabanki district. CII Foundation has partnered with Tarasri Foundation for the project.
A bee keeping initiative by CII Foundation intends to support women of Chainpurva village by providing a sustained income avenue through training and provision of bee keeping boxes and help in linking up with a forward supply linkage. The project is being partnered with Kayakalp Foundation. Bee Keeping boxes were handed over to the women community of Chainpurva at the event.
CII Foundation is partnering with the HOPE Initiative (Health Oriented Programs and Education) to bring awareness on different aspects of health within the school students and through them to the community at large. The intervention aims to bring change in Knowledge, Attitude and Practice amongst the students in 50 government schools in rural areas in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. BMI kits were handed over to the school representatives at the program.
A community health strengthening program was announced to be implemented in Chandauli district, with the objective of to empower frontline health workers and local governance members with the necessary tools, information, and skills to deliver health and nutrition services effectively and at the same time empowering communities and mobilizing them to become equal partners in the health system movement. CII Foundation will be undertaking the project in partnership with Digiswasthya Foundation.
Partner representatives and stakeholders presented their programs plans at the event in the presence of the Principal Secretaries of Health & Family Welfare and Department of Social Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
CII handed over medical equipment to Dr Swatantra Prakash Singh, Chief Medical Superintendent, Combined Tuberculosis Hospital Government Hospital, Thakurganj, Lucknow.

*Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh* , urged industry to address the health gaps, especially by providing equipment support where the Government faces procurement challenges.
*L Venkateshwarlu, IAS Principal Secretary, Department of Social Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh* , expressed that industry engage on long term basis with sensitivity for the development of the state.
The program was attended by industry representatives, NGOs leaders and institutions.
