Transport Department Tightens Grip: Seizures, Fines Worth Lakhs Collected in Major Road Safety Drive

In a strong enforcement drive in Badaun, the Transport Department launched a large-scale अभियान against overspeeding and overloaded vehicles following directives from the state government and the District Magistrate. The operation was led by Assistant Regional Transport Officer (Administration/Enforcement) Hariom across multiple locations in the district.
During the campaign, 40 two-wheelers and four-wheelers were challaned for violating speed limits. Additionally, four heavily overloaded vehicles were seized at Faizganj police station and the sub-regional transport office. कार्रवाई was also taken against 14 mining-related overloaded vehicles.
The enforcement drive resulted in the recovery of approximately ₹4.5 lakh as compounding fees deposited into the government treasury. Officials reiterated that such strict actions are essential to curb rising road safety risks and ensure compliance with traffic regulations.
Authorities urged citizens to adhere to prescribed speed limits and avoid overloading vehicles beyond permitted capacity. Overspeeding and overloading remain major contributors to road accidents, posing serious threats to public safety.
The department has made it clear that enforcement drives will continue with increased intensity, and violators will face strict penalties. The initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to safer roads and responsible driving practices.
