SBI Powers Digital Banking in 13 Indian Languages; Dynamic Departments Honored with ‘Rajbhasha Shield’ in Lucknow

In a high-powered operational push to integrate regional languages into corporate banking, the State Bank of India (SBI) hosted its quarterly Official Language Implementation Committee meeting at its Local Head Office in Lucknow. The session was presided over by the Chief General Manager (CGM) of the Lucknow Circle, Shri Dipesh Raj. The executive convention thoroughly reviewed the ongoing implementation of Hindi and other local languages across all administrative blocks to maximize banking penetration.

Emphasizing the Power of Mother Tongue and Customer Connect Addressing the core team, CGM Dipesh Raj delivered a powerful statement on cultural roots, asserting that one’s mother tongue and local dialects are the bedrock of personal identity and cultural heritage. Invoking the legendary Bhakti-era poet Vidyapati’s celebrated phrase, ‘Desil Bayna Sab Jan Mittha’ (native speech is sweet to all), he emphasized that local languages carry the highest emotional quotient and operational efficacy. He urged banking officials to systematically prioritize communicating with account holders in their most comfortable regional languages.

Expanding the Multilingual Digital Footprint Highlighting SBI’s technological inclusion, the CGM proudly announced that the bank’s diverse digital services are no longer restricted to just Hindi or English. Instead, keeping consumer convenience at the center, SBI platforms are robustly functional in 13 major Indian languages.

Marking the professional event, the Chief General Manager officially unveiled the latest edition of the quarterly in-house magazine, ‘Vatayayan’, praised by all for its rich, educational, and collectible content. Additionally, various high-performing desks were awarded the prestigious ‘Rajbhasha Shield’ for their exceptional official output in Hindi. The high-profile meeting saw the presence of General Manager Shri Kaushalendra Kumar and several Deputy General Managers. The event was smoothly anchored by Assistant General Manager (Official Language) Shri Diwakar Mani, while Circle Development Officer Shri Dhirendra Mahe delivered the vote of thanks.
