: Marking a monumental milestone in advancing evidence-based maternal and neonatal healthcare services, the Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI) has officially rolled out its CPD 2.0 module under the aegis of Project ADHUNA. This strategic initiative is carefully modeled to strengthen the ‘Continuum of Care’ across private healthcare ecosystems, specifically targeting the prevention, optimization, and clinical management of preterm births in India.
Top Medical Minds Converge in Lucknow for High-Impact Clinical Drills
As part of the nationwide execution targeting 29 high-priority districts, the CPD 2.0 session was successfully hosted in Lucknow on June 20, 2026, at Hotel Clarks Avadh. The stellar educational program was spearheaded by industry veterans Dr. Bhaskar Pal (President, FOGSI 2026) and Dr. Jaideep Tank (Project Director, ADHUNA & Past President, FOGSI 2024). Organized in close tandem with the Lucknow Obstetrics & Gynecological Society, the event flourished under the supervision of Dr. Preeti Kumar (Vice President, FOGSI) and Dr. Seema Mehrotra, attracting a dense crowd of local pediatricians, Master Trainers, and frontline paramedics.
Mastering Preterm Screening, Antenatal Interventions & Labor Room Safety
The clinical curriculum presented during the intensive sessions focused heavily on arming medical practitioners from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha with real-time operational readiness. The technical tracks comprehensively mapped the premature care pathway:
Risk Assessment & Stratification: Early screening of preterm indicators using cervical length diagnostics and precise gestational age charts.
Evidence-Based Medical Solutions: Timely deployment of cervical cerclage, antenatal corticosteroids, targeted antibiotics, tocolytics, and magnesium sulphate to improve fetal survival rates.
Intrapartum Efficiency: Strict fetal monitoring protocols, timing of delivery, and the strategic adoption of Delayed Cord Clamping (DCC).
Transforming Neonatal Care: From Kangaroo Mother Care to Portable CPAP
A key highlight of the workshop was the immersive, simulation-driven drills dedicated to advanced neonatal resuscitation, thermal regulation, and post-delivery maternal mental wellness.
The technical trainers highlighted breakthrough innovations including the immediate initiation of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), the implementation of the specialized Mother–Newborn Care Unit (MNCU) blueprint, and the integration of portable CPAP units for the ultra-safe transportation of critically distressed newborns. Through this phase, FOGSI strongly reinforces its national mission of providing respectful, dignified, and highly effective intrapartum care across private health facilities.
