Vendor Development Programme in Lucknow on August 20-21

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are set to get a major opportunity to enter the government procurement market and expand their business network. The MSME Development Office, Kanpur, will organise a Vendor Development Programme on August 20 and 21, 2026, at PHD House, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
The programme aims to help MSME units develop as potential vendors and suppliers for Central Government ministries, departments and public sector enterprises. It will provide entrepreneurs with an opportunity to understand government procurement requirements and explore new markets for their products, services and technologies.
Under the Government of India’s Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises, 2012, Central Government ministries, departments and Central Public Sector Undertakings are required to procure 25 per cent of their purchases from Micro and Small Enterprises. This policy creates a significant opportunity for eligible MSMEs to become registered vendors and strengthen their presence in the government market.
A major attraction of the programme will be an industrial exhibition featuring around 20 stalls, where MSMEs will showcase their products, services and technologies. The platform is expected to help entrepreneurs directly present their capabilities to government agencies and large industrial organisations.
Representatives from major institutions including NTPC, GAIL, HAL, RDSO, BHEL, ALIMCO, RBI, NABARD, BIS, IIP and EXIM Bank, along with nationalised banks and Technology Development Centres under the Ministry of MSME, are expected to participate.
Participating organisations will explain their procurement requirements, purchasing policies, vendor registration procedures and opportunities available for MSME units. Direct interaction between entrepreneurs and institutional representatives will also help businesses understand how they can become part of the government supply chain.
The programme is expected to give MSMEs practical knowledge about government procurement, help them establish direct institutional contacts and open new avenues for business expansion.
The MSME Development Office, Kanpur, has urged micro and small enterprises across Uttar Pradesh to actively participate in the programme and make effective use of the government procurement opportunities available to them.
