Hindi Takes Centre Stage at Lucknow Passport Office

Poetry, awards and recognition mark the grand conclusion of Hindi Fortnight 2026

 The Regional Passport Office, Lucknow, concluded Hindi Fortnight 2026 with a grand closing ceremony and poetry conference, celebrating the language, creativity and literary talent of its officers and employees.

The Hindi Fortnight was organised from September 14 to September 28, 2026, with the objective of encouraging greater use of Hindi in official work and strengthening awareness and interest in Rajbhasha Hindi among employees. The concluding ceremony and award distribution programme was held on September 30.

Talent Takes the Stage

Several competitions and activities were organised during the fortnight, including a competition among sections for outstanding work in Hindi throughout the year, a Hindi essay competition and a Hindi speech competition.

Officers and employees participated enthusiastically, showcasing their linguistic abilities and creative talent.

Winners Felicitated

Passport Officer Shri Gyanveer Singh presented awards to the winners of various competitions and congratulated all participants for their enthusiastic involvement. He encouraged continued and effective use of Hindi in official functioning.

Recognition for Lucky Singh

The office also highlighted a notable achievement by its Junior Translation Officer, Ms. Lucky Singh. She secured second position in the logo competition organised for the 6th All India Rajbhasha Conference.

Ms. Singh received the award during the Hindi Diwas-2026 programme held in Navi Mumbai from the hands of Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Nityanand Rai and Shri Sanjay Kumar Bandi.

Poetry Enlivens the Evening

The major attraction of the closing ceremony was the poetry conference featuring renowned poets Pankaj Prasoon, Gajendra Priyanshu, Kamal Kishore Bhavuk and Rashmi Sharad.

Through compositions blending humour, satire, patriotic spirit and emotion, the poets captivated the audience. Officers and employees responded enthusiastically with applause and appreciation.

A Stronger Rajbhasha Commitment

Passport Officer Shri Gyanveer Singh felicitated the invited poets and expressed gratitude for their participation.

The poetry conference brought the Hindi Fortnight celebrations to a successful conclusion. The programme strengthened the positive environment for Rajbhasha Hindi within the office and conveyed a clear message about the continued and effective use of Hindi in government functioning.
