Unauthorized Plotting Under Scanner as KDA Issues Notices Over 53 Bighas
Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) launched a major crackdown against illegal plotting and unauthorized constructions in the city, demolishing encroachments spread across nearly 48 bighas of land. The action was carried out under the direction of Vice Chairman Ankur Kaushik and Secretary Abhay Kumar Pandey by the Enforcement Zone-4 team led by Special Duty Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh.
According to officials, the demolition drive targeted unauthorized plotting being developed on Arazi numbers 109, 122 and adjoining land parcels in Sakarapur Narwal, located behind the Mathurapur scheme area. Authorities stated that the developers failed to obtain approved maps or legal permissions from the development authority before initiating plotting activities.
During the operation, roads, drainage systems, boundary walls, electricity poles, pillars, entry gates, sewer lines, and several under-construction structures were razed using two JCB machines. KDA officials termed the drive part of an ongoing campaign against illegal land development in Kanpur.
The authority also identified two more unauthorized plotting projects spread across nearly 53 bighas in Mouja Ramaipur and Indira Nagar Phase-1 near Uriyara. Notices have been issued to the concerned developers after they allegedly failed to produce approved layout maps. Officials warned that sealing and demolition action would follow if satisfactory replies are not submitted within the stipulated time.
Several enforcement staff members, engineers, supervisors, and local police personnel remained present during the action to maintain law and order.
Appealing to citizens, Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh advised people to verify layout approvals from KDA before purchasing plots in any newly developed colony. He also urged residents to ensure that all constructions are carried out strictly as per approved building maps to avoid financial and legal complications in the future.
