Kanpur Development Authority carried out a major demolition drive against illegal and unauthorized plotting in Enforcement Zone-3, demolishing developments spread across nearly 66 bighas of land in Kanpur. The action was conducted under the direction of Vice Chairman Ankush Kaushik and Secretary Abhay Kumar Pandey, led by Special Duty Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh.
According to officials, unauthorized plotting was being carried out on land parcels located at Fatehpur village in Kanpur Nagar without obtaining approved layout plans or permission from the development authority. During the operation, four JCB machines were deployed continuously for nearly three hours and forty-five minutes to demolish illegally constructed roads, drains, boundary walls, electric poles, pillars, entry gates, sewer lines and several under-construction structures.
Authorities stated that the demolition drive is part of an ongoing campaign against illegal land development and unauthorized colonies in the city. Officials also identified six additional unauthorized plotting sites in areas including Bingawan, Ramaipur, Bidhnu and Sen Paschim Para. Notices have been issued to the concerned parties, and sealing or demolition action may follow if satisfactory replies are not submitted within the stipulated time frame.
Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh appealed to citizens to verify layout approvals from the development authority before purchasing land in plotted colonies. He warned that investing in unauthorized developments could lead to financial and legal complications in the future.
The demolition drive was conducted in the presence of engineers, supervisors and adequate police force from the concerned police stations to maintain law and order during the operation.
The development authority further clarified that strict action against illegal plotting and unauthorized construction activities will continue as part of its sustained enforcement campaign across Kanpur.
