CMD Pravin Kumar Assures Nationwide Expansion via Robust Franchise Model

In a monumental initiative to provide seamless access to modern and advanced assistive devices for Divyangjan (specially-abled) and senior citizens, the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) has launched the country’s first AT Mart (Assistive Technology Mart) in Swaroop Nagar. The state-of-the-art center was officially inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Divisional Commissioner K. Vijayendra Pandiyan. The event was graced and led by Shri Pravin Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of ALIMCO.
The establishment of AT Marts across India was a key highlight of the Union Budget announcements made by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Launched under the Central Government’s prestigious ‘Divyang Sahara Yojana’, this initiative aims to provide premium, quality-tested assistive devices to beneficiaries under a single corporate roof.
Emphasizing the corporation’s grand vision, ALIMCO CMD Shri Pravin Kumar stated:
“This AT Mart is a milestone in our mission to empower the Divyangjan of our nation. Our objective extends beyond merely distributing equipment; we want to enhance the quality of life, dignity, and self-reliance for every specially-abled citizen. Following this flagship center, ALIMCO is geared up for a massive pan-India expansion.”
ALIMCO DGM Ajay Choudhary along with CMD Shri Pravin Kumar highlighted that this AT Mart has been designed as a premium experience-cum-facility center. Visitors can physically inspect the devices, experience live demonstrations, evaluate their features, and make purchases tailored to their specific medical or physical needs. The mart showcases a vast array of products, including standard and electric wheelchairs, specialized tricycles, walkers, advanced crutches, high-tech hearing aids, smart glasses, customized artificial limbs, and orthotic & prosthetic devices. Following the inauguration near Motijheel Metro Station, the Divisional Commissioner also inspected the trail of an advanced EV Scooty.
CMD Shri Pravin Kumar further explained that ALIMCO is scaling this ecosystem rapidly through a ‘Franchise Model’. Under this scheme, interested entrepreneurs, corporate institutions, and reputed NGOs can enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ALIMCO to open and operate AT Marts in their respective regions. Currently, expressions of interest and franchise applications have already been received from over a dozen major cities, including Patna, Ahmedabad, Ballia, and Mumbai. The multi-state expansion will be executed in a highly systematic, phase-wise manner.
The mega launch event was attended by ALIMCO’s top brass, including General Manager (Finance) Atul Rustagi, General Manager (P&A) Sanjeev Arora, In-charge GM (Marketing) Ajay Choudhary, In-charge GM (Production) Vivek Dwivedi, along with all deputy general managers and senior officials of the corporation.
