Retro Magic Unleashed in Kanpur! Merchants Chamber Rocks the Town with “Anokhi Asha” Musical Blockbuster!

The industrial hub of Kanpur witnessed a spectacular, star-studded musical extravaganza that successfully transported the city’s elite into the golden era of Bollywood! Marking the 11th consecutive year of its legacy, the Cultural Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh hosted a lavish musical evening titled “Anokhi Asha”—a grand tribute to the legendary melody queen Asha Bhosle, organized on the birth anniversary of the revered Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania.
Before the musical firecrackers went off in the evening, the Chamber pulled off a heartwarming community drive during the blistering daytime heat. From 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, they hosted a massive refreshment camp, serving ice-cold sweet sherbet to over 3,000 exhausted commuters, earning massive praise from the locals.
As dusk fell, the corporate cream of Kanpur, including industrial titans like A.K. Sarawagi, Anil Agarwal, and Dr. Inder Mohan Rohatgi, gathered to kickstart the mega event with a floral tribute to Dr. Singhania. What followed next was pure auditory bliss! Powerhouse performers like Arun Das, Samriddhi, Varsha, and Kapil set the stage on fire with iconic tracks like “Piya Tu Ab To Aaja”, “Dum Maro Dum”, “Dil Cheez Kya Hai”, and “O Haseena Zulfon Wali”.
Adding a spicy and elite touch to the performances, Swatantra Singh, Chairman of the Cultural Committee, took over the mic as the master storyteller. Instead of a boring line-up of songs, he filled the breaks with thrilling, lesser-known anecdotes, backstage drama, and the historical context behind each composition, keeping the crowd absolutely hooked. The energetic evening wrapped up with a vote of thanks from coordinator Inder Mohan Rohatgi, leaving the VIP audience begging for an encore!
