In a major breakthrough for the mega ‘New Kanpur City’ project, the Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) has successfully acquired 1.9 hectares of land. Under the strategic direction of KDA Vice-Chairman Ankur Kaushik and Secretary Abhay Kumar Pandey, the Land Bank section alongside Project Nodal Officer/SDM Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh executed the registered sale deeds from 21 local farmers in favor of the development authority.

Ensuring a farmer-friendly approach, the KDA disbursed compensation at a whopping 4 times the official circle rate. Demand drafts totaling ₹7,51,77,300 (Seven Crore Fifty-One Lakh Seventy-Seven Thousand Three Hundred only) were distributed on the spot to the landowners, including Ashish Katiyar, Munni Kureel, Anand Pratap Singh, and others. The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude to the KDA officials for wrapping up the registry and payout process with zero bureaucratic hassle. Legal advisor Dheeraj Saini and Tehsildar Ramnath were present during the proceedings.

₹392 Crore Paid So Far; Multi-Hectare Expansion Underway According to OSD/SDM Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh, the momentum will intensify over the next three days. The KDA is scheduled to acquire another 1.7 hectares of land from 19 more farmers, for which demand drafts worth ₹4.31 crore are already prepared, and online token generation is underway. Strikingly, the authority has already pumped a massive ₹392 crore into the hands of local farmers through mutual consent acquisitions so far.

Simultaneously, parallel efforts to acquire an additional 55.0709 hectares via the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Act are moving swiftly. The ground inspection report by Agrima Agency has been vetted by the District Magistrate and sent to the state government. Proceedings under Section 11 of the Land Acquisition Rules, 2016 are currently underway, ensuring that New Kanpur City will soon transition from blueprint to reality.
