A significant conference of the All India Ex-Servicemen Bankers Welfare Committee was held in Lucknow at the Vishva Samvad Kendra, bringing together former servicemen bankers from across the country. The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by chief guest Dhiraj Singh and other senior members, followed by a collective rendition of the national anthem by participants from Uttarakhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and other regions.
The conference served as a platform to discuss pressing issues affecting ex-servicemen bankers, particularly in light of evolving labour laws. Participants expressed concerns over the survival of smaller trade unions and emphasized the need for stronger representation within parent banking unions. The importance of coordination between welfare committees and larger unions to safeguard the interests of ex-servicemen bankers was also widely discussed.
Prominent speakers including Anand Rathore, Mrigank Srivastava, and others strongly advocated for unity and organizational strengthening. The committee’s constitution was read out by Harendra Chhetri (Delhi) and Shankar Dutt Thapliyal (Uttarakhand), followed by constructive suggestions from members to make it more inclusive and welfare-oriented.
A key highlight of the event was the unanimous election of Anand Rathore as National President and Mrigank Srivastava as Treasurer. The committee also resolved to establish state-level units across India to strengthen its grassroots presence.
The cultural segment added vibrancy to the event, featuring traditional folk performances from Uttarakhand by Shankar Dutt Thapliyal’s team. The newly elected National President Anand Rathore concluded the conference with a vote of thanks, appreciating the participation and collective spirit of the members.
The conference marked a crucial step toward building a unified platform for ex-servicemen bankers, focusing on welfare, representation, and future strategy.
