In a phenomenal move to transform traditional farming into a sustainable and high-yielding business, NBFGR organized a highly successful field-level campaign in Gotauna village, located in the Haidergarh region of Barabanki district on Thursday. The twin initiatives—’Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav’ and the ‘Khet Bachao Campaign’—witnessed an incredible gathering of agricultural masterminds and local farmers aiming to secure the future of Indian soil.
A stellar team of research pioneers, including Principal Scientists Dr. Ajai Kumar Pathak and Dr. Rekha Devi Chakraborty, Technical Officer Dr. Ranjan Singh, KVK In-charge Dr. Ashwini Singh, Scientist Dr. Archit Shukla, and IISR Principal Scientist Dr. Kamta Prasad, directly interacted with the farming community. The experts delivered a powerful message, urging farmers to aggressively reduce their heavy reliance on toxic chemical fertilizers and switch to bio-fertilizers and organic farming models.
In the prominent presence of the Village Pradhan, Shri Nilesh Pal, the mega event educated rural citizens on the core goals of this central government initiative. Farmers were taught the immense financial and ecological benefits of the ‘Soil Health Card’, which allows scientific monitoring of soil fertility and nutrient optimization.
Adding massive value to the workshop, Dr. Kamta Prasad revealed advanced, high-yielding sugarcane varieties and discussed foolproof disease management tactics to maximize crop output.
The scientific delegation also visited the fields of a progressive local farmer, Shri Ashok Singh, providing on-the-spot technical suggestions. Around 20 prominent farmers actively participated in this high-energy session. The event concluded on an emotional and determined note, with the entire village taking a solemn pledge to adopt organic practices, protect soil biodiversity, and drive India’s sustainable agricultural growth.
