Banks urged to ensure 100% PMFBY coverage of eligible KCC farmers before August 31

: The State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Uttar Pradesh, convened a comprehensive review meeting to accelerate the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) Kharif 2026 and the KCC Saturation Drive. Chaired by Shri Shailendra Kumar Singh, General Manager and Convener of SLBC UP, the meeting was attended by senior officials from the UP Agriculture Statistics Department, NABARD, member banks, and insurance partners.
August 31 Set as Premium Debit Deadline
It was highlighted that enrollment for PMFBY Kharif 2026 commenced on August 5, 2026, with August 31, 2026, fixed as the final deadline for premium debits. GM Shailendra Kumar Singh urged financial institutions to operate in “mission mode” and conduct daily progress monitoring at zonal and regional branch levels to ensure no eligible KCC holder is left out.
Leveraging ‘KRISHIKA App’ for Digital KCC Processing
To streamline KCC application processing and real-time tracking, the committee highlighted the widespread adoption of the KRISHIKA App. Banks were instructed to utilize Bank Mitras, digital awareness camps, and multi-channel outreach strategies to educate farmers and achieve complete financial inclusion across rural Uttar Pradesh.
