Complaints regarding the presence of unauthorized intermediaries and touts around the Passport Office and Passport Seva Kendra in Lucknow have raised concerns, particularly for applicants arriving from outside the city. Many applicants, unfamiliar with the official passport process, may become vulnerable to people who promise faster services or easier processing in exchange for money.

To address the issue, the Passport Office, Lucknow, in coordination with the local police, conducted a special drive against unauthorized intermediaries at the Passport Seva Kendra, Lucknow.

The primary objective of the campaign was to strengthen transparency in passport-related services, protect applicants from unauthorized persons and ensure strict adherence to the prescribed official procedure.

During the campaign, applicants were advised to use only authorized channels for passport applications, appointments, document verification and other related services. They were also cautioned against sharing personal information, important documents or money with unknown persons claiming to have influence inside the passport system.

Officials emphasized that applicants do not need to depend on touts or unauthorized agents for routine passport services. Following the official procedure can help citizens avoid unnecessary financial losses, misinformation and potential exploitation.

The joint initiative by the Passport Office and local police sends a strong message that unauthorized intermediaries will not be allowed to misuse the passport service environment or exploit applicants.

Citizens have also been encouraged to remain alert and immediately report suspicious activities or attempts to mislead applicants to the concerned authorities or police.

The campaign is significant not only from an enforcement perspective but also for strengthening transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly passport services in Lucknow.
