Five-year collaboration to focus on AI, blockchain, and digital forensics for stronger Aadhaar ecosystem

: In a significant move to strengthen India’s digital identity infrastructure, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) under a structured five-year collaboration. The initiative aims to enhance cyber security, digital forensics capabilities, and advanced technology research.
The partnership will focus on six key strategic areas, including cyber security audits, information security and system integrity, forensic infrastructure development, technical consultancy, capacity building, and joint research in emerging technologies. Areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain, deepfake detection, and cryptographic technologies will receive special attention.
UIDAI CEO Vivek Chandra Verma described the collaboration as a major step toward reinforcing the safety and resilience of India’s digital public infrastructure. He emphasized that the initiative will further strengthen the Aadhaar ecosystem and ensure robust safeguards against evolving cyber threats.
The agreement also includes academic and professional development opportunities, including placements and outreach programs for NFSU students, thereby nurturing future cyber security professionals.
With senior officials from both institutions present at the signing, the collaboration reflects a forward-looking approach to securing India’s digital ecosystem and enhancing trust in its digital identity systems.
