Uttar Pradesh has achieved a major milestone in infrastructure development with the inauguration of the Ganga Expressway, positioning itself as the state with nearly 60% of India’s expressway network. Calling it a “historic moment,” State Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi said the project reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to holistic growth and modernization.
Highlighting the symbolic significance, Nandi remarked that the Ganga is not just a river but a spiritual lifeline for millions of Indians. The naming of the expressway embodies this cultural ethos while also representing a transformative force for economic progress in the state.

He emphasized that just as the Ganga enriches the soil, the expressway will nurture Uttar Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem, opening new avenues for investment, logistics, and connectivity. The project is expected to significantly boost economic activities and enhance ease of transportation across regions.
Nandi credited the rapid infrastructure expansion to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Over the past nine years, key projects such as the Bundelkhand, Purvanchal, Gorakhpur Link, and now the Ganga Expressway have accelerated the state’s development trajectory.
Connecting Prayagraj to the national capital, the Ganga Expressway is poised to emerge as a vital industrial corridor. It will not only reduce travel time but also strengthen trade and economic integration.
This landmark inauguration stands as a testament to the “double-engine government’s” vision, further cementing Uttar Pradesh’s identity as India’s emerging expressway hub.
