INS Sunayna Docks in Singapore: Strengthening India’s Maritime Presence in Indo-Pacific

The Indian Navy’s offshore patrol vessel INS Sunayna, deployed under the IOS SAGAR mission, arrived at Changi Naval Base on April 26, 2026, marking its fourth port call. The vessel had earlier visited Male, Phuket, and Jakarta.
Carrying a multinational crew from 16 friendly foreign countries, the ship received a warm welcome in Singapore, highlighting the strong maritime partnership between the two nations. India’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Shilpak Ambule, interacted with the crew and appreciated their role in advancing cooperation under the SAGAR vision.
Commanding Officer Siddharth Chaudhary paid tribute at the Kranji War Memorial and held discussions with Singapore Navy officials to explore avenues for deeper maritime collaboration.
During the visit, the ship was opened to visitors, including students and influencers, offering them a glimpse into naval life. A themed run titled “One Ocean, One Mission” was also organized on April 27, bringing together crew members and the Indian diaspora to promote maritime awareness and unity.
The visit includes professional exchanges such as tours of navigation simulators, information fusion centers, and naval museums, fostering knowledge sharing and interoperability between the two navies. Additional engagements like joint yoga sessions and formal receptions further strengthened ties.
