: The Sunday Aadhaar Service initiative launched by the Postal Department under the Lucknow Headquarters Region received an overwhelming response from citizens on its very first day. Selected post offices remained operational from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, providing Aadhaar enrolment and update facilities to the public. Around 100 citizens availed themselves of the services during the special drive.
A large number of residents visited Lucknow GPO, Chowk Head Post Office, Indiranagar, Gomtinagar, Aliganj, Rajendra Nagar, Alambagh and Awas Vikas Colony post offices to access Aadhaar-related services conveniently on a holiday. Citizens mainly utilized facilities such as mobile number updation, address correction and biometric updates. The initiative proved especially beneficial for working professionals, students and senior citizens who often find it difficult to visit centres on regular working days.
Postmaster General of Lucknow Headquarters Region, Mr. Sunil Kumar Rai, stated that the department is continuously working towards making citizen-centric services more accessible and convenient. He said that the encouraging response to the initiative reflects the growing trust of the public in postal services.
He further informed that the Sunday Aadhaar service initiative will continue in the coming weeks and may soon be expanded to post offices in other districts under the Lucknow region. The department aims to ensure that a larger section of society benefits from the services and the mission of “Dak Seva Jan Seva” reaches more citizens effectively.
The initiative is being viewed as a significant step toward strengthening public service delivery and enhancing accessibility of Aadhaar facilities through India Post’s trusted network.
