: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and BJP Trade Cell State Convenor Vineet Agarwal Sharda travelled across Meerut city in a battery-operated e-rickshaw before reaching the joint protest demonstration organised by the BJP Meerut Metropolitan and District units against the Samajwadi Party.
Addressing party workers and supporters at the gathering, Mr. Sharda strongly criticised the Samajwadi Party, alleging that its ideology reflects divisive thinking associated with historical figures like Aurangzeb, Babur, and Jinnah. He condemned the alleged use of objectionable language by a Samajwadi Party MP from Hamirpur against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and described the remarks as unfortunate and highly objectionable.
Mr. Sharda stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi represents not just a political party but the aspirations of 140 crore Indians. He urged Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav to immediately expel the concerned MP from the party and publicly apologise to the people of the country. According to him, failure to take action would indicate that such statements were being made with the approval of the party leadership.
The BJP leader said Uttar Pradesh is progressing on the ideals of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, while Prime Minister Modi continues to work for nation-building inspired by those values. He accused the Samajwadi Party of repeatedly hurting the sentiments of followers of Sanatan Dharma and claimed that voters would respond politically in the 2027 Assembly elections.
Mr. Sharda also appealed to traders and citizens to follow Prime Minister Modi’s call for reducing petrol and diesel consumption, avoiding unnecessary foreign travel and gold purchases, and promoting destination weddings within India to strengthen the national economy and conserve foreign exchange.
Announcing his personal commitment, Mr. Sharda said he would not undertake any foreign travel or purchase gold for the next one year. He further declared that he would use only environment-friendly transport such as EV cars, battery scooters, metro services, rapid rail, and e-rickshaws for public awareness campaigns.
