Mayawati Rallies OBCs for 2027 UP Polls; Urges Backward Classes to Seize ‘Master Key to Power’ via BSP
Anytime News Network (Pooja Shrivastava):
With an eye on the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National President and four-time Chief Minister, Kumari Mayawati, has launched a massive political outreach targeting the Other Backward Classes (OBCs). Chairing a series of high-level organizational meetings at the party headquarters in Lucknow on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Mayawati meticulously reviewed the ground-level preparations and issued strategic directives to expand the party’s traditional vote bank.
Replicating the Historic 2007 Victory Mayawati heavily emphasized replicating the political landscape of 2007, when a strong alignment of the OBC community helped BSP form its first full-majority government in Uttar Pradesh. She asserted that the true socio-economic advancement of the backward classes is exclusively guaranteed under the absolute rule of BSP’s ‘Iron Lady’ governance, a fact already proven by the historical failures of rival administrations.
Scathing Attack on Opposition’s Casteist Mindset Launching a frontal attack on opposition parties, the BSP supremo described their structural policies as narrow-minded and inherently casteist. She pointed out that while rival factions occasionally promote individual OBC faces for temporary electoral gains, they actively sabotage the community’s structural growth. “Their hostility is evident right from their initial fierce opposition to the Mandal Commission Report to their current administrative tactics aimed at making the 27% OBC reservation completely ineffective,” Mayawati stated.
From the Exploited to the Rulers Highlighting BSP’s legacy, she reminded workers that it was her administration that first established dedicated ministries, commissions, and welfare schemes for Dalits and OBCs. She criticized current regimes for reducing these welfare measures to mere paper compliance.
Concluding her speech, Mayawati gave a powerful clarion call to the OBC community, stating that lamenting over systematic marginalization is not the solution. Instead, they must cultivate a fierce ambition to capture the “master key of political power” and transform themselves from an exploited class into the ruling class through the democratic platform of the BSP.
