India Post Expands Citizen-Centric Aadhaar Facilities

India Post has significantly expanded Aadhaar service hours at the Lucknow General Post Office (GPO), ensuring greater accessibility for citizens seeking Aadhaar-related services. According to an official press release issued by the Chief Postmaster, the revised schedule will remain effective on all days except gazetted holidays.
Services Available Throughout the Week
Under the new arrangement, Aadhaar services will be available Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, while Sunday timings will be 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The move is aimed at providing flexible access to students, working professionals, senior citizens, and other residents.
Complete Range of Aadhaar Facilities
Citizens can avail themselves of new Aadhaar enrolment, updates to name, address, date of birth, mobile number and e-mail, biometric updates including fingerprints and iris authentication, Child Aadhaar enrolment, and all other UIDAI-approved Aadhaar services at the Lucknow GPO.
Carry Original Documents
The postal department has advised visitors to carry all required original documents along with their registered mobile number to ensure a smooth and hassle-free verification and update process.

The extended service hours reflect India Post’s commitment to improving citizen services and supporting Digital India initiatives. The decision is expected to reduce waiting time, improve service delivery, and make Aadhaar facilities more accessible for the public.
