Multi-Department Coordination and Public Awareness at the Core of Uttar Pradesh’s Health Drive
State Strengthens Disease Prevention Framework

: The Uttar Pradesh Government has intensified its campaign against communicable diseases by reviewing the progress of the statewide Communicable Disease Control Campaign. The high-level review meeting, chaired by Amit Kumar Ghosh, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical & Health Department, focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination and accelerating preventive measures across all districts.
Coordination Declared the Key
Officials were directed to ensure close coordination among the Health Department, Urban Development, Panchayati Raj, Education, Women & Child Development and other concerned departments. The government stressed that sanitation, prevention of waterlogging, access to safe drinking water and effective control of vector-borne diseases must remain top priorities.
No Room for Complacency
The review emphasised regular cleaning of drains, removal of bushes, elimination of stagnant water, anti-larval spraying, fogging operations and intensive public awareness campaigns. District authorities were instructed to monitor field activities continuously and ensure immediate corrective action wherever lapses are detected.
Community Awareness Takes Centre Stage
ASHA workers, ANMs, Anganwadi workers and healthcare teams will conduct extensive outreach programmes to educate citizens about personal hygiene, mosquito control and the importance of seeking immediate medical attention when symptoms of communicable diseases appear. The objective is to prevent outbreaks before they spread.
Towards a Healthier Uttar Pradesh
The Additional Chief Secretary reaffirmed that the government’s priority is to provide safe and quality healthcare while significantly reducing the burden of communicable diseases. Continuous monitoring, district-level reporting and timely interventions will remain central to the campaign’s success.
The meeting was attended by Special Secretaries Ravi Ranjan and Dhirendra Sachan, senior departmental officials and Additional Directors in person, while all District Magistrates and Chief Medical Officers joined virtually. The review reinforced the state’s commitment to building a healthier Uttar Pradesh through coordinated governance, preventive healthcare and sustained public participation.
