Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha to conduct a two-week awareness drive, membership campaign and student consultations across colleges and universities

In a significant move to revamp and energize its student wing, Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav unveiled a new uniform for the ‘Samajwadi Chatra Sabha’ at the party headquarters here on Wednesday. The new dress code features a blue T-shirt paired with blue jeans, with the organization’s logo emblazoned on the T-shirt.
Addressing the national and state executive members of the Chatra Sabha, Yadav announced a two-week intensive student awareness campaign to be conducted across colleges and universities in Uttar Pradesh. The campaign aims to connect with the youth, enroll new members, and propagate socialist ideology.
‘Uniform Brings Uniformity and Ends Inequality’ Explaining the rationale behind the new uniform, the former Chief Minister said, “A uniform is not just clothing; it brings uniformity and eliminates inequality. It makes everyone appear equal.” He expressed happiness that people associated the blue colour of the new dress with democracy, ideology, and the Constitution, noting its historical significance to the Bahujan Samaj and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He also quipped that the colour blue makes the youth look younger.
Focus on PDA and ‘Bandhu-Rashtra’ Yadav emphasized that the Samajwadi Party is working with a progressive, positive, and democratic approach to connect youth with the ‘PDA’ (Pichde, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) movement. He criticized the ruling BJP for its alleged negative ideology and divisive politics, asserting that the Samajwadi message is one of ‘Bandhu-Rashtra’ (a nation built on brotherhood, love, and compassion).
Future Vision for Student Leaders Looking ahead, Akhilesh Yadav promised that if the Samajwadi Party forms the government in the state, it will facilitate international exposure for elected student union representatives by sending them to top global universities, including Cambridge and Oxford, to study the future of student governance.
The event also witnessed the joining of several prominent social and political figures from Gorakhpur into the Samajwadi fold.
