Poetry, talent and recognition mark Rajbhasha fortnight celebrations; ‘Pragati’ magazine released

Hindi language, literary creativity and employee talent came together at AREdika as the organisation concluded its Rajbhasha fortnight programme with a vibrant cultural evening, grand poetry conference, award ceremony and the release of its in-house magazine Pragati.
The Rajbhasha Department organised a series of competitions, workshops and seminars from September 16 to September 30, 2026, under the guidance of General Manager Raman Krishnan and the leadership of Chief Rajbhasha Officer Omkar Sharan Singh, with the objective of encouraging railway employees to undertake greater official work in Hindi.
Poetry Captivates Audience
A cultural evening and grand Kavi Sammelan was organised at Saraswati Auditorium on September 30. Renowned poets Mukul Mahan, Akhilesh Mishra, IAS, Shikha Srivastava, Dr. Balwant Singh (Sabaras), Saurabh Jaiswal and Gaurav Krishna Bansal presented their poetic works.
The packed auditorium resonated with applause as the poets brought together humour, satire, contemporary themes and poetic expression. Shringaar poetess Shikha Srivastava also received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience for her performances.
Employees Shine
In the essay-writing competition for officers, Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Material Manager, secured first position, followed by Shabih Ahmad, Senior Mechanical Engineer, and Anil Kumar Srivastava, Public Relations Officer.
In the employees’ essay-writing competition, Pushpendra Kumar Chaurasia, Vivek Kumar Singh and Saurabh Sachan secured the first, second and third positions respectively.
Talent Across Competitions
In the noting and drafting competition, Saurabh Sachan stood first, Himanshu Dwivedi second and Vijay Kumar third. In the speech competition, Saurabh Sachan secured first position, followed by Vijay Kumar and Neeraj Prakash.
The Hindi quiz saw Vijay Kumar secure first place, with Himanshu Dwivedi second and Punesh Singh Yadav third.
‘Pragati’ Released
General Manager Raman Krishnan presented prizes and certificates to the winning participants and encouraged their continued engagement with Hindi.
The latest September 2026 issue of the quarterly in-house magazine ‘Pragati’ was also released by the General Manager. Heads of departments were present on the occasion.
The programme reinforced AREdika’s commitment to promoting Hindi, strengthening writing skills and creating a workplace environment where Rajbhasha becomes an active medium of professional expression.
