: Samajwadi Party National President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched a blistering attack on the BJP government, alleging that corruption and commission-driven governance have weakened the state’s development agenda. In a strongly worded statement, he claimed that major infrastructure projects—from expressways to the Jal Jeevan Mission—have become symbols of poor execution and financial irregularities rather than progress.
Expressway Quality Under Question
Referring to the ₹4,700-crore Lucknow–Kanpur Expressway, Yadav alleged that the road developed potholes and surface failures within days of inauguration, requiring repairs almost immediately. He further claimed that similar quality concerns had earlier surfaced in the Bundelkhand and Gorakhpur Link Expressway projects.
Fresh Allegations Over Bateshwar Corridor
The SP chief also accused authorities of serious construction irregularities in the ongoing Bateshwar Corridor project. According to him, concrete is allegedly being laid directly over soil without proper foundation, while inferior construction materials are being used despite repeated written complaints.
“Whistleblowers Face Threats”
Yadav alleged that instead of addressing complaints, individuals raising questions about corruption are allegedly subjected to intimidation. He described the situation as a serious challenge to democratic accountability and transparency.
“Public Trust Has Been Lost”
In another political statement, Akhilesh Yadav asserted that the BJP had failed to honour its promises to the people. He said that even a public apology may no longer restore the party’s credibility, as public anger continues to grow over governance and unmet expectations.
He also accused the ruling party of pressuring opponents to change statements and relying on outdated political tactics, adding that public resentment would ultimately shape the political future of the state.
