 Focus on Data-Centric Operations and Modern Combat Readiness

The biennial Army Commanders’ Conference (ACC) of the Indian Army concluded on April 16, 2026, in New Delhi after four days of intensive deliberations. The conference, held under the chairmanship of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), brought together top military leadership along with senior government officials.

Key dignitaries including the Cabinet Secretary, Chief of Defence Staff, Defence Secretary, Chairman of the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB), and the Chief of the Indian Navy addressed the gathering, offering insights into evolving security challenges.

Aligned with its vision of becoming a “future-ready force,” the Indian Army has declared 2026 as the “Year of Networking and Data-Centricity.” This strategic focus aims to enhance operational efficiency by integrating advanced data systems and digital technologies into military operations.

Discussions at the conference covered modernization, integration of cutting-edge technologies in warfare, doctrinal and training advancements, and improving combat readiness. Special emphasis was placed on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Counter-UAS capabilities, reflecting the changing dynamics of modern warfare.

Experts highlighted emerging geopolitical realities and global conflict trends, stressing the importance of robust military strength to safeguard national interests. The need for enhanced inter-ministerial coordination and stronger civil-military synergy was also underscored.

Amid global supply chain disruptions, the conference emphasized boosting indigenous defence production to ensure long-term strategic resilience. The deliberations marked a significant step in shaping India’s military preparedness and strategic direction for the future.
