UP Infrastructure Conclave 2026 Sets Vision for Holistic Growth

The first edition of the Uttar Pradesh Infrastructure Conclave 2026, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry in collaboration with Lucknow Development Authority and Indian Green Building Council, brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts in Lucknow to chart a roadmap for the state’s holistic development.
Addressing the session, IAS officer Balkar Singh emphasised that the development of the State Capital Region is central to Uttar Pradesh’s future growth. He outlined a vision of transforming Lucknow into an integrated regional ecosystem, with surrounding districts acting as growth hubs. He stressed that infrastructure must focus not only on expansion but also on quality, sustainability, and improved livability.
Christoph Schnellmann highlighted the transformative impact of the Noida International Airport, describing it as a next-generation aviation hub that will enhance global connectivity and regional economic growth through sustainable infrastructure practices.
Shashank Choudhary elaborated on the role of UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority in driving economic transformation through expressway-led development. He noted that expanding expressway networks are unlocking investment corridors, improving logistics efficiency, and enabling industrial growth across the state.
Smt Vandana Sehgal spoke about the evolution of affordable housing in India, highlighting projects like the Light House Project in Lucknow and the shift towards sustainable, resilient, and community-focused housing models.
Mr Anjani Kumar Pandey pointed out Ayodhya’s emergence as a key real estate destination, driven by religious tourism and infrastructure expansion. Meanwhile, Gaurav Gupta emphasized that real estate is becoming a major driver of economic growth, closely linked with employment and urban transformation.
With participation from over 150 delegates, including builders and developers, the conclave underscored the importance of collaboration between government and industry to ensure inclusive, efficient, and future-ready urban growth.
