Doordarshan to Air Key Messages on Safe Investment Practices

New Delhi: The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), functioning under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with public broadcaster Prasar Bharati to strengthen investor awareness initiatives across the country. The collaboration aims to spread important financial and investment-related information through informative scroll messages on Doordarshan’s national and regional channels.
The MoU signing ceremony was chaired by Ms. Anita Shah Akella, CEO of IEPFA and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. She highlighted the importance of collaborative public outreach programs in improving investor awareness and enhancing financial literacy among citizens. According to her, trusted public broadcasting platforms such as Doordarshan can effectively deliver critical information related to investor protection, unclaimed dividends, recovery of shares, and safe investment practices, especially to people living in remote and underserved regions.
The agreement was formally signed by Lieutenant Colonel Aditya Sinha, General Manager, IEPFA, and Mr. Sanjay Prasad, Deputy Director General (Sales), Prasar Bharati. Officials described the initiative as a significant step toward building a financially aware society through strategic institutional collaboration.
Under this initiative, important messages related to unclaimed dividends, transfer of shares to IEPFA, and the process of reclaiming them will be broadcast through Doordarshan channels. The campaign will also educate investors about using search facilities and filing claims through Form IEPF-5. Additionally, it will focus on promoting safe investment practices and preventing financial fraud.
IEPFA stated that the partnership reflects its continued commitment to empowering investors with timely and accurate information while encouraging financial inclusion across India.
