Indian Bank marked a historic milestone by celebrating its 120th Foundation Day alongside India’s 80th Independence Day. Through a series of commemorative events and community-driven initiatives, the bank proudly reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to nation-building, accessible banking, and sustainable financial inclusion.
Key Highlights of the Celebration:
Patriotism & Leadership Vision: The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the national flag at the bank’s corporate office in Chennai by MD & CEO Shri Binod Kumar. Paying a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s brave freedom fighters, he remarked, “For 120 years, Indian Bank has been an integral part of India’s socio-economic evolution. Today, we rededicate ourselves to empowering communities and accelerating the journey toward a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).”
Empowering the Differently-Abled: Showcasing a strong sense of corporate social responsibility, the bank gifted an e-bike to a national-level female para-powerlifting bronze medalist, ensuring better mobility for her athletic pursuits.
Fostering Unity: Promoting health and togetherness, a mega Walkathon was organized, witnessing enthusiastic participation from the senior management and staff members.
Expanding Horizons & Cyber Safety: Taking banking services closer to the grassroots, Shri Binod Kumar virtually inaugurated 15 new branches across the country. In a major leap toward digital security, the bank launched new customer-centric products along with its brand-new cybersecurity awareness mascot, the “IB Cyber Captain”.
The event was graced by Executive Directors Shri Ashutosh Choudhury, Shri Shiv Bajrang Singh, and Ms. Mini T.M., along with other senior officials and their families.
