BJP Leader Calls Kanwar Yatra a Grand Movement of Faith, Service and National Consciousness
Says Modi-Yogi Leadership Has Brought Respect, Security and Dignity to Devotees
The sacred spirit of Shravan and devotion to Lord Shiva transformed Meerut into a vibrant center of faith and service as senior BJP leader and State Convener of the BJP Trade Cell Vineet Agarwal Sharda visited several Kanwar service camps across the city. He welcomed Shiva devotees with flower showers, ceremonial shawls and chants of “Har Har Mahadev,” joining volunteers in honoring thousands of pilgrims participating in the Kanwar Yatra.
Grand Camp Inaugurated in Vedvyaspuri
One of the major highlights of the visit was the inauguration of the Fourth Grand Kanwar Seva Camp near the Shubh Bharti Police Outpost in Vedvyaspuri. Organized under the joint leadership of Raju Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Sudhir Chauhan, Monu Kumar, Anil Yadav and Sagar Raj, the camp provided food, refreshments, medical aid, rest facilities and other essential services for a large number of devotees.
“This Is More Than a Religious Event”
Addressing the gathering, Vineet Agarwal Sharda said the Kanwar Yatra is not merely a religious procession but a powerful expression of Sanatan culture, discipline, service, social harmony and patriotism. He noted that millions of devotees carrying holy Ganga water from Haridwar and Gangotri to Shiva temples keep India’s spiritual and cultural heritage alive.
Praise for Modi and Yogi Governments
Sharda stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has regained pride in its civilizational identity, while under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed unprecedented security arrangements, organization and respect for Kanwar pilgrims. He said devotees are now welcomed with dignity and their convenience has become a top administrative priority.
Service to Pilgrims Is Service to Shiva
He emphasized that serving Kanwariyas is equivalent to serving Lord Shiva and represents the essence of Indian culture. He also appreciated social organizations, volunteers and camp organizers for strengthening unity, cultural pride and collective responsibility during the holy month of Shravan.
Faith, Discipline and Social Harmony
The atmosphere throughout the camps reflected devotion, discipline and community participation, turning the Kanwar Yatra into not only a spiritual celebration but also a powerful symbol of social solidarity and cultural continuity.
