The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched its annual survey on Computer Software and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) Exports for the financial year 2025-26. The survey aims to collect comprehensive data on software exports, IT-enabled services, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) activities carried out by Indian entities.
According to RBI, the information gathered through the survey will be used for compiling India’s external sector statistics and for publishing aggregated export performance data in the public domain.
Participation in the survey is mandatory for all software and ITES/BPO service exporting companies. RBI has also updated the ITES survey schedule for the current reporting cycle. The survey forms are available in both English and Hindi on the RBI website.
This year’s survey is being conducted through the Centralised Information Management System (CIMS), a web-based platform equipped with automated data validation checks and instant email acknowledgements upon successful submission. The existing Excel-based reporting mechanism will continue in parallel for the current round but is expected to be discontinued from the next survey cycle.
Reporting entities are required to submit their responses through both the existing email-based system and the CIMS portal. Companies may also register themselves directly on the portal and complete the online survey form.
The deadline for submitting survey responses is July 15, 2026. RBI has advised all eligible exporters to ensure timely and accurate submission of data. Queries related to the survey can be addressed to the designated RBI support channels.
