Mass Transfer Scam Rocks UP AYUSH Department: Director General Sidelined by Subordinates

In a shocking development that challenges the Uttar Pradesh government’s strict anti-corruption stance, a massive transfer scandal has erupted within the AYUSH Department. Scores of transfers under the Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Unani directorates have been executed by completely bypassing the Director General (DG) of AYUSH, Chaitra V., exposing a deep-rooted nexus of administrative manipulation and alleged bribery.
According to internal sources, the entire system appears to have surrendered to monetary influence and highly placed connections. Reports suggest that bribes as high as ₹10 Lakhs were exchanged just to ensure that certain influential employees based in Lucknow were transferred to other positions within Lucknow itself. Furthermore, structural hierarchy was completely ignored. In a bizarre move at the headquarters level, junior clerks were placed against vacant senior clerk positions. A prominent example includes the case of Junior Assistant Javed Ansari, alongside a Lucknow Medical Officer whose transfer was managed locally against the rules. This daylight robbery of norms has allegedly been orchestrated under the influence of certain individuals like ‘Bhanje Sri’ and ‘Mathadhish’ Iqbal Ahmed. Worryingly, when a senior IAS officer attempted to back the truth and stand against this system, she was quickly sidelined.
The crisis came to light when the Director General of AYUSH, Chaitra V., took a bold stand and shot a strongly-worded letter to the Chief Secretary. In her official communication, she stated that the Transfer Policy for 2026-27 has been brutally violated. As per the government order, the post of Director General was specifically created to oversee and approve all critical administrative actions. The policy mandates that no transfer of Group ‘B’, ‘C’, or ‘D’ staff can be finalized without the explicit approval of the DG.
However, the individual directors, including the Director of Unani Services Professor Jamal Akhtar, issued transfer orders without taking her clearance. Highlighting specific orders, junior assistants like Amit Kumar Kannaujia and Javed Ansari were moved against senior vacant posts without due process. Demanding immediate cancellation of all such illegal orders to protect the government’s image, the DG has forced the administration into a state of absolute chaos.
