In a groundbreaking initiative to financially empower the youth of Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Government has expanded its employment vision. The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday. This unique partnership aims to integrate traditional skill training with essential financial education for the very first time.

Under this mega drive, more than 1.5 Lakh youth currently undergoing training across 1,000+ UPSDM and DDU-GKY centers will receive specialized financial skill training starting next week. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education and Skill Development, Kapil Dev Agarwal, emphasized that this MoU will be a game-changer. He stated that earning an income is no longer the sole goal; young professionals must also understand how to manage their first salary, create budgets, start investing early, avoid high-interest debts, and stay protected against online financial scams and fraudulent investment schemes.

Prior to the MoU signing, a financial literacy workshop was organized at the Mission Headquarters. NSE officials shared the ’12 Golden Rules of Financial Success’, which include budgeting, building emergency funds, avoiding unnecessary loans, and diversifying investments. The participants were also introduced to the ‘SaaRthi App’, a digital platform packed with educational videos and financial planning tools.

Mission Director Pulkit Khare stated that the true purpose of skill development remains incomplete until youth learn how to manage their hard-earned money. He noted that in today’s era of financial uncertainties, this ‘Skill + Financial Intelligence’ model will transform UP’s youth into economically secure and responsible citizens.
