The ‘Samajwadi Sikh Social Justice Yatra’, which commenced from Pilibhit on April 6, culminated in a massive gathering at the Samajwadi Party headquarters in Lucknow today. Thousands of Sikh leaders honored SP National President Akhilesh Yadav with a Kirpan and Siropa, pledging to clear his path back to the CM post in 2027.
Sikhs are a Brave Community; BJP is Dividing Society: Akhilesh Yadav
Addressing the gathering, Akhilesh Yadav lauded the courage and agricultural excellence of the Sikh community. He accused the BJP of spreading hatred and attempting to fragment society, emphasizing that the responsibility to safeguard the Constitution and democracy now rests upon the shoulders of Sikhs and farmers.
Betrayal of Farmers & The Battle for MSP
750 Martyrs Ignored: Yadav highlighted that 750 farmers sacrificed their lives during the historic protest against black farm laws.
Economic Crisis: He targeted the BJP government for failing to provide legal MSP and accused them of stealing 10kg of fertilizer from every sack, pushing farmers into distress.
Political Representation & Clear Demands
Assuring full political and administrative representation to the Sikh community, Yadav promised that no lands would be snatched under an SP regime. The Yatra, coordinated by National Secretary Kuldeep Singh Bhullar, raised several key demands:
Land ownership rights for 50-year-old occupants.
Re-establishment of Gurdwara Gyan Godri Sahib in Haridwar.
Formation of a dedicated Sikh Commission and inclusion of Sikh Gurus’ history in school curriculums.
Bestowing the highest honor from Akal Takht upon the late Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji.
The Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia auditorium echoed with thunderous slogans of ‘Sat Sri Akal’ and ‘PDA Zindabad’ as the community declared their absolute allegiance to the Samajwadi Party for the 2027 elections.
