: The Board of Directors of Union Bank of India today approved the financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The bank has demonstrated a resilient performance characterized by robust net profit growth, improved asset quality, and expanding credit delivery.
Exponential Profitability & Core Income For the first quarter of FY27, the bank reported a stellar 29.57% year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit, standing at ₹5,332 crore against ₹4,116 crore in Q1 FY26. Total interest income expanded to ₹27,203 crore, while Net Interest Income (NII) surged by 10.15% YoY to ₹10,037 crore. Operating profit also witnessed a healthy uptick of 15.83% to reach ₹8,003 crore.
Expansion of Business and Deposits The total business mix of the bank registered a YoY growth of 7.46%, aggregating to ₹23,79,697 crore. Global deposits witnessed a 3.50% increase to stand at ₹12,83,366 crore, supported by a strong 11.73% growth in CASA deposits which reached ₹4,50,305 crore. Gross advances showcased momentum with a 12.50% annual jump.
RAM Segment Triggers Balanced Credit Growth The Retail, Agriculture, and MSME (RAM) advances recorded an overall YoY growth of 11.56%. Credit to the MSME sector grew robustly by 16.49%, followed by the retail loan segment at 12.06%. RAM advances now constitute a substantial 57.31% of the bank’s total domestic advances.
Sharper Asset Quality and Capital Position Asset quality strengthened significantly, with Gross NPA decreasing by 87 bps YoY to 2.65%, and Net NPA declining by 15 bps to an impressive 0.47%. The Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) stood firm at 95.05%. The bank remains well-capitalized with a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) of 18.46% and a CET-1 ratio improving to 16.38%.
Financial Inclusion and Green Financing Aligning with national priorities, the bank expanded its financial inclusion portfolio, managing 3.45 crore PMJDY accounts with deposits worth ₹15,943 crore. Furthermore, under its green initiatives, the bank has sanctioned ₹34,363 crore for the renewable energy sector and ₹2,819 crore for green vehicles till June 30, 2026.
