Hindi house magazine honoured under Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar Scheme at 6th All India Official Language Conference

. Union Bank of India has achieved a significant recognition for its commitment to promoting Hindi and strengthening the effective implementation of the Official Language in banking operations. The bank’s Hindi house magazine, ‘Union Srijan’, has won the First Prize under the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar Scheme for House Magazines in the ‘B’ Linguistic Region for the financial year 2025-26.
The prestigious award was presented at the 6th All India Official Language Conference, organised by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah presented the award to Asheesh Pandey, Managing Director and CEO of Union Bank of India.
The conference was also attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar, along with other dignitaries.
The recognition highlights Union Bank’s continued efforts to promote Hindi as an Official Language and strengthen its effective use across banking operations. Through ‘Union Srijan’, the bank provides a platform for presenting institutional activities, ideas and banking-related subjects in Hindi.
During the second session of the conference, the bank’s publication ‘Karobaar Sarvopari, Anupalan Nirantar’, brought out under its ‘Vividh Ayam’ book series, was also unveiled. The publication highlights the importance of compliance in banking operations and institutional functioning.
The conference also featured an important technology-enabled inclusion initiative. Union Ministers of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai and Bandi Sanjay Kumar distributed AI-powered spectacles to five beneficiaries with visual disabilities, providing technology-based assistance to support their daily lives.
Union Minister Amit Shah also visited the Union Bank of India exhibition stall, where he was welcomed by MD and CEO Asheesh Pandey. The newly released publication was also presented to the Union Home Minister on the occasion.
The First Prize for ‘Union Srijan’ represents a significant milestone for Union Bank of India and reinforces its commitment to the effective use and promotion of Hindi in banking.
The recognition also underlines the importance of Indian languages in institutional communication and reflects the bank’s efforts to give Hindi a stronger voice within the banking ecosystem.
