The Public Works Department Uttar Pradesh has achieved a historic milestone in budget utilization for the financial year 2025–26, setting a new benchmark in infrastructure spending and execution efficiency.

According to official figures, the department received a total budget allocation of ₹36,293.95 crore and successfully utilized ₹30,581.98 crore—amounting to 84.26% of the total budget. Excluding establishment expenditure, the department spent ₹28,086.82 crore out of ₹32,676.49 crore, achieving an impressive 85.95% utilization rate.

Notably, the department surpassed its target of ₹28,000 crore by spending ₹28,087 crore, marking a clear case of overachievement. This reflects strong financial discipline, effective planning, and timely execution of development projects.

Compared to the previous financial year (2024–25), where expenditure stood at ₹23,850 crore, the current year’s performance shows a significant jump, highlighting accelerated infrastructure growth across the state.

The achievement is largely attributed to the leadership of Ajay Chauhan and A.K. Dwivedi. Continuous monitoring through video conferencing over the past two months ensured accountability and timely fund utilization.

Experts believe this milestone is not just about numbers but reflects a broader shift toward efficiency, transparency, and result-oriented governance in Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure sector.
