The Uttar Pradesh Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (UPSIC) has requested the Chief Minister to designate it as a departmental executing agency under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department. The corporation has also informed the government that it has made available a dividend of ₹267.60 lakh (approximately ₹2.68 crore) from its accumulated profits up to the financial year 2020-21.

UPSIC Vice Chairman Natwar Goyal said that since its establishment in 1958, the corporation has played a significant role in promoting industrial development, developing and maintaining industrial estates, providing marketing support to MSMEs, generating employment, and encouraging entrepreneurship across Uttar Pradesh. He stated that UPSIC possesses the expertise and infrastructure required to efficiently implement government projects as a departmental executing agency.

Natwar Goyal further said that granting departmental agency status to UPSIC would ensure faster, more transparent, and time-bound execution of industrial development projects. He added that such a move would strengthen the MSME sector, attract greater investment, and create more employment opportunities in the state.

The corporation maintained that the payment of a ₹2.68 crore dividend to the State Government reflects its sound financial position and efficient management. UPSIC has expressed confidence that the government will positively consider its proposal, enabling the corporation to play a larger role in Uttar Pradesh’s industrial growth and MSME development.
